50 Young People Get A Kick Start

DENISE O’LEARY the founder of award-winning marketing agency Purpol Marketing has this month launched her ground-breaking remote digital marketing internship under the UK Government Kickstart Scheme.

She is now working with 50 young people to give them a start in digital marketing and to build their experience as part of the Government’s Kickstart Scheme. Their work with her began on November 2nd

“As soon as I heard about the Kickstart Scheme I felt it was something powerful for young people at what is a very difficult time for many trying to enter the world of work. The number of applications I received were staggering. I’ve also been told I’m the first in the UK to offer such an opportunity.”

The Kickstart Scheme provides funding to create new job placements for 16 to 24 year olds on Universal Credit who are at risk of long term unemployment. Employers of all sizes can apply for funding and Purpol founder Denise O’Leary seized the opportunity to provide 50 placements in her innovative remote Digital Marketing Internship Scheme.

Those 50 interns now have a six-month paid role with Purpol Marketing where they will learn marketing skills through a mix of online learning and virtual workshops.

“They will also work on individual projects as well as group projects and will be fully supported to develop skills including: collaboration and teamwork, leadership, commercial awareness, time management, communication, negotiation, creativity, critical thinking, problem solving, alongside CV and interview training,” Denise said.

Placement students will get to complete Purpol’s online courses Magnificent Marketing, Digitally Marketing for Recovery, and the Better way to Bid as part of the experience.

“The pandemic has resulted in a severe lack of opportunity for young talent in the UK, many brilliant students are leaving education with no jobs to go to. I have been blown away by the quality of the applicants who are showing amazing resilience and ambition – I can’t wait to help the next generation of marketers build on their skills which will become the foundation to their working lives.”

Purpol Marketing has just been voted the winner of the global title of People’s Choice Stevie® Award for favourite Advertising, Marketing, & PR company. This accolade was an international vote recognising the best companies worldwide by sector. To find out more about Purpol Marketing visit purpolmarketing.co.uk
