Structural steel company John Reid & Sons Ltd (REIDsteel) is back to pre-Covid productivity levels at its manufacturing facility in Dorset.
The company has welcomed staff back into its workshops with social distancing, and has resumed operations on construction sites. Now they are looking to phase the return of office staff at their Christchurch headquarters, the majority of whom have been working remotely from home.
Managing director Simon Boyd said: “We have reached and are now exceeding pre-lockdown productivity levels in our manufacturing facility. Praise must go to all of our people who returned to work raring to go and embraced our new Covid-19 working practices.” Simon continued, “Our construction operations have also successfully resumed and we intend to introduce a phased return for our office staff. The commitment of our people has helped to place the company in a very strong position so it is able to play a full part in supporting the country’s economic recovery.”
REIDsteel were one of the first to shut down manufacturing and construction site operations following the Government’s Covid lockdown in March – but led the way in re-opening five weeks later.
Thanks to in-house capabilities and expertise, they are regularly contracted to design, manufacture and supply complete steel structures including the cladding, glazing, louvres and staircases for projects anywhere in the UK, Europe and across the world.
