Do You Need To Look Through ‘The Business Lens’?

Posted By Greg Robinson on October 14, 2025 Marketing

Experienced commercial photographer and director of photography Barbara Leatham has launched her new “The Business Lens” programme for businesses where visual imagery is integral to their marketing.

‘The Business Lens” has been created by Barbara, who has more than 30 years’ experience as a commercial photographer, to offer bespoke and detailed photography training to businesses which need to tell their stories through photographs. It’s designed to work for start-ups right through to larger companies with multiple teams and social media managers.

The programme offers highly personalised training to meet a business’s particular needs. From product-based businesses, to trades, to service providers, – strong visual images generate leads and sales.

Barbara said: “No one business is the same as another. Each business has its own staff, its own equipment, premises, products or services. With this new programme, I will work with business owners – from sole traders and start-ups to large companies – to train them to make the most of their kit, in their own space to achieve wonderful visual imagery which speaks to their clients and customers over and over again.”

‘The Business Lens” aims to reduce the need for stock libraries and buying unbranded images that other companies can also use, which lack any personality or bespoke branding, or authentic storytelling.

“One of my clients had a key stock image they kept using for their marketing. That worked until the day they realised that their biggest competitor was also using the same stock image. Then it didn’t work. Having your own images which can be taken by your own team members means you show up regularly in your marketing authentically and unapologetically,” Barbara said.

“The Business Lens” packages are designed to suit two main sectors: trades such as plumbers, builders, carpenters, heating engineers, electricians, where there’s a clear visual journey from ‘before’ the work is done, ‘during’ the work and ‘after’ work has been completed. The second focus is other businesses which rely heavily on visual marketing such as accountants, estate agents, interior designers or product-based businesses with fast moving stock.

Applicable to camera or phone use, every training package is designed to give businesses “go to” settings that deliver consistency. Each business will also be provided with a ‘visual image guide’ book containing their own unique training so that the process can be repeated consistently by teams over and over again.
