Loo Of The Year Awards Named Finalist In Prestigious European Industry Awards

Loo of the Year Awards has been named a finalist in the 2026 European Cleaning & Hygiene Awards, earning recognition among the industry’s leading organisations from across Europe.

The UK’s leading independent washroom benchmarking scheme has been shortlisted in the Best Initiative Raising the Profile of the Cleaning Sector category following a record-breaking number of entries.

Organised by European Cleaning Journal, the awards celebrate excellence, innovation and leadership across the professional cleaning and hygiene sector.

The shortlisting recognises the work Loo of the Year Awards has undertaken to raise awareness of the importance of high-quality washroom provision, champion accessibility and inclusivity, and encourage organisations to view washrooms as an integral part of the customer, staff and visitor experience.

Over the past 12 months, the team behind Loo of the Year Awards has continued to build on their mission of raising standards across the sector. Alongside securing trademark protection for both the Loo of the Year name and logo, the team has launched its podcast, The Bog Cast, developed new partnerships and taken their message to an international audience through speaking opportunities and industry events.

“To be recognised on a European stage is a fantastic achievement for the whole team,” said Becky Wall BEM, Managing Director of Loo of the Year Awards.

“We’re passionate about raising standards, not just through our annual awards, but by working with organisations throughout the year to improve accessibility, hygiene and the overall experience for everyone using away-from-home washroom facilities.

“To be shortlisted in a category recognising initiatives that are helping raise the profile of the cleaning sector is particularly meaningful because that’s exactly what we’re striving to do. It’s wonderful to see our work recognised alongside so many outstanding organisations from across Europe.”

The European shortlisting is the latest milestone for the team, following an invitation for Becky to speak at Interclean Amsterdam, the world’s largest professional cleaning and hygiene exhibition, where she shared UK expertise on accessibility, customer experience and washroom standards with delegates from across Europe.

The finalists were selected from a record number of entries, reflecting the continued innovation and commitment being demonstrated across the European cleaning and hygiene sector.

Winners will be announced at a gala ceremony in Palma de Mallorca this October, bringing together more than 300 industry professionals from across Europe.

Whether it’s a workplace, visitor attraction, school, restaurant, shopping centre or public venue, Loo of the Year Awards continues to encourage organisations to recognise the important role well-maintained, accessible washroom facilities play in shaping customer confidence, wellbeing and reputation.
