Earn Rewards For Your Company And Employees With Cathay Business Plus

For small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), managing business travel efficiently can be a challenge. Balancing cost control, employee comfort, and flexibility often requires more time and resource than smaller organisations can spare. That’s where Cathay’s Business Plus programme comes in – offering a smarter, more rewarding approach to corporate travel without the complexity typically associated with large-scale travel contracts.

A smarter way for SMEs to travel

Business travel remains a key driver of growth for many SMEs, whether it’s securing international partnerships,

attending industry events, or expanding into new markets. Yet traditional corporate travel schemes have typically been designed with large businesses in mind, often requiring high volumes or long-term commitments.

Cathay’s Business Plus programme has been created to address this gap. The programme gives SMEs a simple way to earn rewards on business travel while maintaining flexibility and control.

Unlike complex corporate agreements, Business Plus is free to join and does not require minimum spend thresholds. This makes it particularly attractive to growing businesses that want to maximise value without being tied into rigid contracts.

About Cathay Pacific

Cathay Pacific is Hong Kong’s home airline and a globally recognised premium carrier, connecting customers to an extensive network across Asia-Pacific and beyond. The airline has built a strong reputation for service quality and continuous investment in customer experience.

In 2025, Cathay Pacific was recognised by Skytrax for offering the world’s best Economy class and best in-flight entertainment – an important consideration for SMEs balancing cost and comfort. From thoughtfully designed seating to a wide entertainment library, even long-haul Economy travel is intended to be comfortable and productive. In 2026, Cathay Pacific was also voted the world’s 2nd best airline and world’s best business class by AirlineRatings.com.

From the UK, Cathay Pacific operates up to five flights a day from London Heathrow and one daily flight from Manchester. This includes one Heathrow service featuring the airline’s new Aria Suite in Business class, new Premium Economy seating and refreshed Economy – giving businesses flexibility across different travel budgets.

Earn as you travel

At the core of Business Plus is a simple idea: businesses should be rewarded for their travel spend. Companies enrolled in the programme earn Business Status Points and Asia Miles whenever employees fly on eligible Cathay flights.

These miles can be redeemed for a range of travel-related benefits, including upgrades and lounge passes. Importantly, employees continue to earn their own individual Asia Miles and Status Points, while the business builds its own pool of rewards. As the company earns more Business Status Points, it can be promoted to a higher Business Status and unlock additional rewards and Business Status benefits.

For SMEs, this turns travel spend into a long-term asset – helping budgets go further without compromising on experience.

Designed for flexibility

Flexibility is a defining feature of Cathay’s Business Plus programme. SMEs often operate in fast-changing environments, where travel plans can shift quickly and rigid booking conditions can lead to unnecessary costs.

Business Plus avoids this by offering a 24/7 self-service portal featuring a centralised dashboard where companies can easily manage bookings, track points, and redeem rewards. There are no requirements to commit to specific routes or volumes, allowing businesses to adapt their travel strategy as they grow.

Rewards all round

When you book a flight through the platform, your company will earn Business Status Points. Each company starts on Status 1, which means it can enjoy a 30% earn rate on its travels. Status 2 companies will enjoy a 35% earn rate and Status 3 companies will get 40%. Asia Miles is the currency you earn with your everyday spending, which you can redeem for flights, experiences or lifestyle perks, such as a lounge pass or even a coffee machine to brighten up the office. All Business Plus travellers enjoy priority baggage so you and your team can experience seamless travel perks, right from the first moment.

Seamless global connectivity

A key advantage of flying with Cathay Pacific is its home at Hong Kong International Airport, one of the world’s leading aviation hubs. From here, SMEs can access seamless onward connections to destinations across Asia and Oceania, including the Chinese Mainland, Japan, South Korea, Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia, Australia, and New Zealand.

Cathay Pacific also offers strong intermodal connectivity, enabling smooth transfers between air, rail, and ferry services within the Greater Bay Area. This makes it easier for businesses to reach cities in the region without complex itineraries.

For SMEs with international ambitions, this connectivity provides a clear strategic advantage.

Supporting employee experience

While cost control is important, employee wellbeing and productivity are equally critical in business travel. Long-haul journeys can impact performance if not managed properly.

Through Business Plus, SMEs can use accrued points to upgrade employee travel experiences – enhancing comfort and helping travellers arrive better prepared.

Cathay Pacific Business Plus

Cathay Pacific’s lounges further elevate the journey. Designed as calm, premium spaces, they offer restaurant-quality dining, comfortable seating, high-speed Wi-Fi, and shower facilities. These environments provide an ideal setting to relax or work before a flight, away from the busy terminal.

Ideal for international growth

For UK-based SMEs expanding into Asia-Pacific markets, Cathay’s network offers a strong foundation. With frequent departures from London and Manchester and seamless connections via Hong Kong, the airline supports efficient global travel.

Business Plus enhances this by ensuring that as travel increases, so too does the return on investment. The programme scales with the business, without requiring renegotiation or higher commitments.

Simple and accessible

One of the key strengths of Business Plus is its simplicity. There are no hidden fees or complex earning structures, making it easy for SMEs to understand and use.

Registration is quick, and businesses can start earning points almost immediately. This transparency also helps finance teams track travel return on investment more effectively.

Limited-time sign-up offer

Businesses that sign up to Business Plus before 12 June 2026 can earn a complimentary lounge pass after their first flown flight.

This provides an immediate opportunity to experience Cathay Pacific’s premium lounge offering first-hand, highlighting the added value available through the programme.
