Editorial Complaints Policy

SME Today is committed to publishing accurate, fair and responsible journalism. We take all complaints regarding our editorial content seriously and aim to resolve them promptly and fairly.

This policy applies to editorial content published on www.smetoday.co.uk, including news articles, features, interviews, opinion pieces and multimedia content.

Making a Complaint

If you believe that any editorial content published by SME Today is:

  • Factually inaccurate
  • Misleading
  • Unfair
  • Defamatory
  • In breach of privacy
  • Infringes copyright
  • Otherwise falls below acceptable editorial standards

please contact us by email at: editorial@smetoday.co.uk

Please include:

  • Your name and contact details
  • The URL or title of the article
  • The nature of your complaint
  • Any supporting evidence or information
  • The outcome you are seeking

Our Process

We will:

  • Acknowledge your complaint within three working days.
  • Investigate the matter promptly.
  • Respond within 10 working days wherever reasonably possible.
  • Where additional investigation is required, we will keep you informed of progress.

Corrections

If we establish that an article contains a significant factual error, we will:

  • Correct the article as quickly as reasonably possible.
  • Add an editorial note where appropriate explaining the correction.
  • Issue an apology where warranted.
  • Minor typographical or grammatical errors that do not alter the meaning of an article may be corrected without notice.

Opinion Articles

Opinion and commentary reflect the views of the author and should not necessarily be interpreted as the views of SME Today.

However, opinion articles must still be based on accurate facts and will be reviewed if a complaint is received.

Complaints relating to advertising should be directed to: info@smetoday.co.uk

Legal Matters

Where a complaint raises a potential legal issue, including defamation or privacy, we may seek legal advice before responding.
