Finance Director Returns As Judge For National Business Awards

Posted By Greg Robinson on August 12, 2025 People

Finance Director Romesh Jeyaseelanayagam has once again been invited to join the judging panel for the prestigious Best Businesswomen Awards 2025 – a nationwide programme recognising the UK’s most outstanding female entrepreneurs.

Now in its eleventh year, the awards celebrate the drive, passion and resilience of women running successful businesses across a wide range of sectors.

Romesh, founder of The FD Consultant, based in London and supporting businesses across the UK, first joined the judging panel in 2024. As a returning judge, he says it’s a privilege to be part of the process.

“I’m honoured to be back on the judges panel for the Best Business Woman Awards 2025, having been an adjudicator for several categories last year,” he said. “It’s such an inspiring initiative to be involved in. These awards shine a light on women who are growing brilliant businesses – often while balancing family life and pushing through barriers that still exist for female entrepreneurs.”

Romesh attended the 2024 awards ceremony, helped assess submissions from across the UK, and presented one of the winning trophies on stage.

“It’s incredibly uplifting,” he said. “I’ve had the pleasure of meeting many of the finalists and seeing firsthand the tenacity, creativity and leadership they bring to their ventures. I understand the highs and lows of running a business, and I applaud anyone who chooses that path.”

As founder of The FD Consultant, Romesh and his consultants support start-ups and scale-ups with part-time Finance Director services, board advisory and mentoring. Having worked at both FTSE 100 giants and purpose-led start-ups, and now running his own consultancy, Romeshbrings a broad and balanced perspective to the judging process.

Debbie Gilbert, founder of the Best Business Woman Awards, said:

“Romesh brings real insight and integrity to our judging panel. He’s not only an experienced finance director and business owner, but someone who genuinely champions others and understands the day-to-day reality of growing a company. We’re delighted to have him back for 2025.”

The FD Consultant continues to work with a wide range of growing businesses across the UK, offering fractional CFO support from a small, trusted team of experts.
