Westspring CEO Invited to Bristol IWD

Bristol based IT firm, WestSpring IT, will be represented at a major regional International Women’s Day event next month, with CEO Emma Carter invited to join a select panel of speakers.

International Women’s Day itself takes place on Sunday March 8 and this year marks 115 years since the global movement began in 1911. The 2026 theme calls on us to imagine a gender equal world, one free from bias, stereotypes and discrimination, where difference is valued and celebrated. It is a day to recognise women’s achievements, raise awareness of inequality and encourage practical action towards greater gender parity.

The Bristol event forms part of that wider international conversation. Emma will be part of a panel discussion exploring how women-led businesses and charities can create stronger career pathways.

She will be speaking about her experience as CEO of WestSpring IT and how the company’s engagement with the Good Employment Charter has supported leadership and management development within the organisation.

“I have the absolute pleasure of joining a group of amazing advocates to focus on how everyone benefits when we support women,” Emma said.

“At WestSpring IT we’ve genuinely invested in leadership and management development. We want people to feel confident stepping up, knowing they’ve got the skills and support behind them. When that happens, the whole business feels stronger.

“The event is being brought together by the West of England Mayoral Combined Authority’s Good Employment Charter initiative, which is uniting organisations and industry leaders from across the West of England for a morning focused on creating more inclusive work environments.”

Alongside panel discussions exploring barriers faced by women-led organisations and how to be an effective ally at work, there will be practical HR insight and dedicated networking opportunities aimed at turning conversation into action.

Keynote speakers Rachel Mostyn and Camilla Rigby, co-founders of The Women’s Work Lab, will share how they support mums returning to work through placements and one-to-one coaching. Helen Thomas of The HR Dept will also offer practical guidance on improving gender equality in the workplace.

As one of a small number of senior women leading IT businesses in the region, Emma said it is important to be visible and to share practical experiences.

“International Women’s Day gives us a moment to reflect, but more importantly to act. If businesses are prepared to give time, training and genuine support, the gains are shared by individuals, teams and the wider community.”

The event, hosted by the West of England Combined Authority, will take place on Monday March 9 at the Bristol Beacon from 9.30am to 12.15pm.

Based in Aztec West in Bristol, WestSpring IT provides strategic managed IT solutions, with service excellence a priority, establishing long lasting partnerships with businesses in the UK. Their clients include Halo Leisure, Circadian Trust, Method Consulting and Precision Resource Group.
