The South West Expo, held on 10th July at the STEAM Museum in Swindon, has been hailed a huge success, drawing in hundreds of SMEs and over 80 exhibitors from across the region.
The day began with a buzzing breakfast networking session, followed by an inspiring keynote address from the UK’s No.1 motivational speaker, Brad Burton. Speaking to a packed room of more than 150 business owners, Brad shared his personal journey of resilience and growth.
“I spoke today about hope, optimism, and belief — the three things that carried me through some of the toughest times in my life,” said Brad Burton. “Events like this remind us that business isn’t just about strategy — it’s about people, relationships, and mindset.”
Despite unusually hot weather, attendance remained high throughout the day, with delegates taking full advantage of the opportunity to network, generate leads, and explore new partnerships.
Alec Jones-Hall, Director of Great British Expos, expressed his delight with the event’s success:
“It’s been incredible to see the level of energy and engagement at this year’s South West Expo,” said Alec. “The calibre of both exhibitors and attendees shows just how vibrant and ambitious the business community in this region really is.”
Among this year’s exhibitors was the Thames Valley Chamber of Commerce. Tim Major, Senior Account Manager, praised the expo as a key regional business event:
“The Swindon Expo continues to be a fantastic platform for connecting with both our existing members and potential new ones,” said Tim. “This year’s event was particularly energising — we had meaningful conversations with businesses considering relocating to Swindon, which is a testament to the town’s growing appeal. Exhibiting at Great British Expos is always a valuable opportunity for us to showcase the support and community the Chamber offers. It’s not just about visibility; it’s about building relationships and helping businesses thrive in our region.”
The South West Expo will return to Swindon in 2026, but business leaders and entrepreneurs don’t have to wait until then for another opportunity to connect. The next regional event, South West Expo Bristol, takes place on 2nd October at Leigh Court Manor in Bristol.
