With UK Savings Week just around the corner (22–28 September) and World Financial Planning Day on 1 October, there’s no better time for business owners to get serious about their numbers. On 23rd September 2025, award-winning finance trainer, consultant and founder of TKA Finance Training, Tara Askham, will host a workshop at The Wesley Hotel, Euston, London, designed to help SMEs, entrepreneurs, and sole traders take control of their business finances.

The interactive training session, “Know Your Numbers, Grow Your Profits, Take Home More Money”, promises to provide attendees with a greater knowledge of their income and outgoings.  Hosted by Tara and featuring guest speakers, the event promises to transform the way attendees read, understand, and utilise their financial information to grow profits and increase their earnings.

Tara said: “Too many business owners only meet their accountant once a year,  often when the tax bill lands. By then, it’s too late to make the changes that could save money and boost profits. I’ve designed this workshop in the hope that it will help people break that cycle and get a better grip on their finances.”

Attendees are encouraged to bring a laptop (with Excel or Google Sheets installed), along with their most recent accounts or financial records, whether that’s a profit and loss statement, balance sheet, cash flow report, or even simple spreadsheets or bank statements.

Most importantly, come with an open mind and a readiness to put the learning into action straight away. The day will include refreshments and has excellent transport links via Euston, King’s Cross, and Euston Square stations, making the venue easy to reach.

In just one day, participants will learn how to:

  • Read and understand financial statements – without jargon
  • Build a practical, realistic budget
  • Master cash flow management and avoid surprises
  • Set financial goals and stick to them
  • Ask the right questions of their accountant to save money
  • Take home practical tax tips and a tailored action plan

The workshop will take place at The Wesley Hotel, Euston, London, on 23rd September 2025.   Registration & coffee will be between 9:00  and 9:30 am, with the workshop starting at 9:30 am – 4.30 pm.  Tickets are £197 but spaces are limited, so must book by 18th September. Places can be booked on Eventbrite
