Putting a Signature to Expansion Plans as Company Doubles in Size

An award-winning finance company has doubled in size over the last 12 months and has exciting plans for the  future.

Signature Financial Services who are based at the Lymedale Business Park in Newcastle have taken on four new mortgage brokers and two client managers since July last year, with another broker starting next month.

It takes the team to 13, with plans to recruit another two mortgage brokers, a client manager as well as an  operations manager in the coming weeks.

The company founded in 2009, specialise in all forms of property finance; including residential mortgages,  commercial mortgages, buy to let finance, bridging finance, portfolio borrowing, limited company lending – anything property related that may require a financial package.

They were named ‘Property Finance Experts of the Year,’ in the SME News and were also finalists at the  Mortgage Introducer Awards 2019.

In 2019, they moved from the Barracks in Newcastle to Lymedale Business Park as part of their expansion plans and from then on, they have continued to grow despite the pandemic.

Managing Director Dean Birks took full ownership of the business in 2018. He said:
“Like everyone when we  went into the first lockdown last March, we of course had concerns about the market and the business. Lenders retracted a lot of their deals and there was a much tougher lending criteria so to take the right people  on during such a time of uncertainty was of course a risk which I felt very nervous about but it’s a risk that’s really paid off.

“I can honestly say as a team we are the busiest I can ever remember us being and without the team members we’ve brought in, I honestly don’t think we would have managed the workload. There’s been a surge in demand for our services for a number of reasons – lending criteria has loosened, the stamp duty holiday is  coming to an end and the market is more buoyant, so we’ve seen a huge surge in demand for both our bespoke advice and our products.”

Dean added:
“I’m excited for the future – We recently opened a Manchester city centre office and we have plans to have a presence in Chester in the very near future. We’ve got a fantastic team here and we’re looking forward to bringing in even more team members, as we continue to grow, this year and beyond. Between us we have a great depth of knowledge and expertise and I think that’s why we’ve been so successful, because our clients know they’re going to get the very best advice from us. It’s great to have the team back in the office too – being able to bounce ideas around and collectively help each other is invaluable and we’re looking forward to welcoming some more new faces soon.”
