Zoek Shortlisted For Most Effective Recruitment Marketing Campaign 2021

Cheshire based recruitment agency, Zoek UK is celebrating being shortlisted in the Recruiter Awards 2021 for the ‘Most Effective Recruitment Marketing Campaign’.

Zoek are among five brands being considered for the award. They were shortlisted for their ‘truck CV’ where they worked with Dragons’ Den entrepreneur Ed Hollands of Driven Media to put a giant CV on the back of a truck for lucky job seeker James Pemblington. The story was picked up by the media, locally, nationally and internationally and James secured a role in 72 hours.

Established in 2002, the Recruiter Awards is the UK’s largest event for the recruitment community and recognises outstanding achievements in recruitment marketing and technology as well as best practice by agencies and in-house recruiters. Since they first started, the organisers at Recruiter have now presented over 500 awards to the agencies and in-house recruiters who demonstrate excellence in their industries.

Hannah Scragg, head of marketing at Zoek, said:
“We are very proud to be recognised in this year’s Recruiter Awards. Being in recruitment, we really wanted to try and help people who had lost their jobs specifically because of the pandemic. Our aim was to provide at least one person with some hope, and we were able to do this with our competition winner finding work within three days of our campaign going live.”

In September last year, Zoek UK joined forces with Ed Hollands, the young founder of mobile advertising company, DrivenMedia to create a competition to find a job seeker who presented a really strong case about why they needed a job.

Almost 200 candidates applied, and the winner had his face and CV details displayed on a truck along with Zoek’s brand. The CV travelled up and down the UK’s road network.

“We had seen how powerful truck advertising could be for our own brand awareness campaign,” Hannah commented. “Therefore, we decided to feature a revolutionary recruitment campaign on the back of a truck!”

It was estimated the truck advert would travel for 30 hours per week, cover around 1,200 miles and be seen by around 100,000 pairs of eyes!

“We have a saying: ‘Don’t find a job, let the job find you’.” added Hannah. And that’s exactly what happened! The mobile campaign launched on a Wednesday and Zoek’s job-seeker client was contacted, interviewed and offered a job by Saturday.

She continued:
“Seeing our client getting a job offer after only three days of the giant CV going on the road shows just how innovative and effective this recruitment marketing campaign was. It also epitomised our  core mission, which is to revolutionise the global job board market through innovative technology, delivering value to hirers and a superlative experience to candidates searching for a new job.”

The glittering gala Recruiter Awards dinner should take place on Thursday 23rd September at the JW Marriott Grosvenor House, London, subject to Covid-19 regulations in force at the time.

This year, in celebration of ‘Star Wars Day’ (May 4th), Zoek are planning to send three lucky winners’ CVs into space, which you can read more about here.
