National Loo of the Year Awards, announce internationally renowned magician, Marc Spelmann, also known as Magician X, as their 2026 entertainment.
The Loo of the Year Awards, now in their 38th year, honour the very best in ‘away from home’ washroom provision. Each year, the best of the best are celebrated in their day-long event, and they have announced the return of Marc Spelmann for attendee’s entertainment.
Marc Spelmann, from North London, became a professional magician in 1997. Having perfected his craft throughout his career, he decided to go on Britain’s Got Talent in 2018 which led him to massive success. His audition has accrued over 35 million views online.
“When I was a kid, I was incredibly shy. I discovered magic on Christmas Day when I was 7 and my nan got me a magic book,” said Marc. “I practiced from that book and when my family reacted to my first trick with shock and awe, I knew this was something I loved. I continued to do magic for fun until I realised it was something I wanted to pursue as a career.”
After being knocked out of Britain’s Got Talent in 2018, Marc re-auditioned in 2019 under the pseudonym Magician X, becoming an international sensation – again. Since then, he has made special appearances for America’s Got Talent and The Ultimate Magician.
“I’m thrilled to be attending the Loo of the Year Awards 2026. The first time was so nice, I had to do it twice!” said Marc. “It will be an all-new performance, and I’ll be sharing something completely unique, and it’ll be a great way to start the new year.”
Becky Wall BEM, CEO of Loo of the Year Awards, spoke about Marc Spellman joining them for their 2026 event.
“We are absolutely delighted to welcome Marc back as our entertainment for this year’s Loo of the Year Awards celebration. Marc entertained us at our very first awards celebration, after we took over in 2021, and he left such a lasting impression that it was an easy decision to invite him again.
“We know that Marc’s magic not only amazes but also brings joy, laughter, and a real buzz to the room. That is exactly what we want our attendees to experience, a celebration that is memorable, uplifting, and full of fun.”
Central to The Loo of the Year awards is a grading scheme where entrants agree to receive an unannounced visit from an inspector and each washroom is judged on 101 criteria which include cleanliness, décor, signage, accessibility and customer care.
This year, businesses and organisations were inspected across the summer, and the best will be celebrated at the annual Loo of the Year Awards. The highest grading is ‘diamond’, then it goes in descending order of ‘platinum plus’, ‘platinum’, ‘gold’, ‘silver’, and finally, ‘bronze’.
The ceremony will take place on 14th January 2026 at the National Motorcycle Museum in Solihull. To register your attendance and experience Marc Spellman’s mind-blowing magic, purchase tickets at: Revservations
