What inspired the company’s creation, and how has it evolved into a leader in IT and telecoms solutions?
Radius Group was founded in 1990 by Bill Holmes, starting out above a hair salon in Holmes Chapel, the village where Harry Styles famously worked in a bakery. Originally focused on fuel cards, the company has grown into one of the UK’s largest private businesses, now operating across multiple divisions including Fuel card, telecoms & IT, telematics, insurance, EV solutions, Expense management and energy
Our telecoms division, Radius Connect Solutions, has played a key role in that journey. We have built a strong reputation for delivering reliable and scalable solutions to over 14,000 UK businesses, supported by a team of more than 250 staff across 10 offices. But our role is evolving.
We are now helping customers shape their IT strategy, strengthen their cybersecurity posture, and prepare for the future of work. This transformation reflects our shift from simply offering telecoms products to becoming a strategic technology partner.

Radius Connect Solutions has been supporting clients with telecoms and connectivity services since 2018, following a series of strategic acquisitions that brought together several specialist providers. Since then, we have seen a major transformation in how businesses communicate and operate.
The shift from traditional phone systems to cloud-based platforms has enabled more flexible, mobile-first working. At the same time, omnichannel communication has become essential. Businesses now expect to engage with customers and teams seamlessly across voice, video, messaging, and collaboration tools. This has fundamentally changed how organisations think about connectivity and infrastructure.
We have evolved to meet these needs, moving beyond telecoms to support customers with their IT strategy, cybersecurity, and digital transformation. Businesses are looking for integrated solutions that support hybrid working, protect data, and improve customer experience. Having not been with Radius for a long time, it is hard for me to pinpoint an exact moment when the company established itself as a go-to technology partner. What I can say is that from my perspective, it is clear that Radius has built a strong reputation for delivering end-to-end solutions across connectivity, unified communications, managed IT, and IoT. Customers clearly value having a partner who can bring all these technologies together in a seamless way.
We are now going on a journey from not just offering IoT multi-network SIMs to providing IoT as a service, which includes the hardware such as sensors and a portal for reporting. Alongside this, our managed IT services allow businesses to securely manage their infrastructure and operations, giving them more flexibility, insight, and control.
